Self Coloring

As everyone knows the Corona virus shut down almost everything either completely or mostly. With that salons. So for months we have waited to get to our beautician to help with the manes on our heads. In the meantime a newish trend of at home coloring kits has emerged. There are a a few you can choose from but I choose to use E-Salon. The way it works it you take a test which asks you questions all about your hair, then it asks about your current color. You are even given the option to upload a photo for yourself wit for your colorist. Once your test is complete they give you a suggested color for you. However, my natural hair is blonde but I have colored it red for the last 10 years so their suggestion was not one I wanted, they gave me blonde. So instead I picked my own color. They give you several panel as comparison to how far from your natural color you are going. So I picked my shade, paid $10, and waited. Now about that payment. I paid $10 because I found a code to get a discount.

Price is always a big deal to me, because I'm poor and therefore must be cheap. I chose this website because of the price mainly. Madison Reed is another online coloring site but one color is almost $30 plus shipping. With this kit I got the color, developer, and an extra bottle of both, two sets of gloves, a salon coloring brush, stuff to clean around my scalp if i made a mess. This is a lot of products for $10, or $22 for my future orders.

The box of goods!

You then sign up for how often you want your hair color to ship and voila you're done. It took less than a week to recieve my color. The instructions are pretty simple, but they did make me realize how much I appreciate doing my color for me. It's been years since I've colored my hair. So this took a little longer than I anticipated. So the color was easy to apply, easy to wash out. My hair afterwards felt great and if you've ever colored your own hair from a box you understand the importance of your hair feeling soft after. The scent of the color didn't linger in my hair either.

So I think this hair color is pretty good, and reasonably priced. It didn't do damage to my hair, which is a huge bonus, and there are a lot of choices in which color you can choose from. My first color in all honesty was too light, much lighter than I normally would have chose, so I chose wrong. But I added a message for my stylist to make it darker and left an example of what color I'm going for. So I'll update this again in a month.

This is my hair before and after. The second picture is in natural light so you can tell that my hair has definitely changed color, but then you see it inside and it looks basically the same. So really no one noticed I colored my hair. So I'm gonna add a darker red to it with more copper and see what happens. All in all though I think this box is a great deal for all the products that you get. When I opened the box I was crazy impressed with everything that came with it. Like already mentioned the color was great on my hair and left it soft, and not smelly like most hair color does.

So after reading this if you'd like to give your own at home color a shot be sure to use the code below. Also you with each order you get lots of points towards free color, so bonuses!
